Beating Boston

Three of us squeezed in a super practice despite pressing issues, but soon forgot them all as we tackled “The Boston Quickstep” (Charles Zeuner Arr by Martin Todd) . It starts with triplet, which has put us off in the past. But we soon found the rhythm, and decided it is a really nice piece. However we could not be quite so enthusiastic about ” Ostinato” (Hinrich Luchterhandt) , which starts off with 6 bars of staccato notes, then it quite soon became a problem, so we put it down to the fact that we did not have a treble player with us, and moved on! I hope we can revisit it and give a more positive report..
