New Playlist

Great fun today , tackling the new playlist. “Houndayawka” provided us with plenty of enjoyable work, tackling the semiquaver runs, particularly for the descants and Trebles! Thoinot Arbeau’s Branles were more interesting and challenging than at first appeared. We played them as one continuous piece, rather than six small ones. “Fair Phyllis” by John Farmer requires timing concentration, but first efforts were pronounced as being good!

J.S. Bach’s “Three Chorales” Arranged by Helen Hooker, is something we will work on more. The “hold” points were discussed as we tried several ways to manage them, and whether / how we should breathe at those points too. Doubtless there will be more to say on this next time!
