To Follow or not to follow, and just count!

Three of us met to practice “Adriane Musica”, “Branles” , “Fair Phyllis” and “Greensleeves to a Ground”. Who doesn’t prefer a score to follow, to check were to come in, and feel reassured that we are at the right point.. Do we have a preferred other line to follow as well as our own? Perhaps we switch and decide to look at a different line that is easier to check if we are in time with them. This when problems start! It is so easy then to lose one’s place! When we admitted what had happened, a wise friend said . “Stick to your own line and JUST COUNT!”

We then went on to play “Greensleeves to a Ground” from our own parts, not the score, and all finished together! A useful lesson learnt.
