What a great meeting we had, with such a variety of time signatures!
Greensleeves to a Ground being 6/4 with plenty of staccato.
Lascia Ch’io Pianga being 3/2, slow and mournful, yet a beautiful piece. The bass has some tied bars, which need careful thought !
Summer is Icumen In is 3/4. Written in 1240, possibly about one of the oldest pieces of music we have played. Plenty of tied notes for all three parts, and some challenging high notes for the trebles. We will doubtless return to it to speed up !
Finally, Now is the Month of Maying, being in half common time.. The treble part initially sounds somewhat discordant when practiced separately, but fits well when all parts are played!
Plenty to work on next time!
